Card Night 11-May-2010

Jackpot has soared to $100.00.  That’s the highest it’s been since February 2008.  It’s the result of five Card Nights in a row with no one winning jackpot, the first time that’s happened since May 2003!

(Mary: Are you sure you can’t make it next week?)

Mike had promised to provide analysis of the data he’s been keeping on how likely a player is to win or lose in a certain seat at the Card Night table, but tonight he announced that he would not be providing that analysis because he feels that he is biased.  Instead, he stated that a panel of minorities would study the data and report back their findings.  Mike provided no completion date for this report.

Meanwhile, Paul stepped in to provide objective, unbiased analysis of his own: “Seats 1, 5 and 6 do pretty well.”

On an unusual hand of Texas Hold ’em (unusual for Card Night anyway), Mary raised Paul’s bet on the turn when the board paired queens.  Jason and Paul both called the raise.  On the river, everyone checked.  Paul won the hand with just the pair of queens on the board and ace-jack kickers in the hole.  No one had anything!

Mark D +$13.00

Paul ‑$15.00
Phil +$15.00
Bill ‑$50.00
Jason +$114.00
Mike S ‑$125.00
Glen ‑$34.00
