Card Night 28-Mar-2013

Mary had a dismal night, recording her worst Card Night ever: -$258.00.  (Previously her worst night had been 18-Aug-2011 when she lost $217.00.)

Most of her money went to Mike Stefanidis, who recorded his second best Card Night ever: +$228.00.  (His best Card Night was on 21-Mar-2012 when he won $271.00.)  Mike has only played twice in 2013, but thanks to tonight’s win and last week’s $174.00 win, he is now the Card Night leader for the year.  (Even so, he has a losing record for the last 10 Card Nights he’s attended: 3-7-0, -$370.00.)

Card Night 19-Mar-2013

Mike Stefanidis and Paul attended their first Card Night for 2013.  (They showed up to draw teams for our NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament pool.  Entries and results are here.)

Until tonight, Paul had missed the last eleven Card Nights.  Prior to that, the most consecutive Cards Nights Paul had ever missed was one.

Mike also set a personal record for consecutive Card Nights missed at thirteen.

Both Mike and Paul did well.  Paul made a huge comeback to win $19.00, having been stuck for $140.00 at one point.  And Mike was the big winner of the night, pocketing $174.00.

On the flip side, Jason had his worst Card Night ever, losing $217.00.  (When Jason was down about $100.00, he said he was going to start playing more conservatively.  Not sure that happened.)  Prior to tonight, Jason’s worst night had been 14-Aug-2012, when he dropped $181.00.

Card Night 12-Mar-2013

Bill won jackpot again this week, this time with quad 3s in Omaha Hi-Lo.

Lyndon still hasn’t had a winning night in 2013, but he’s not the biggest loser.  Bill is down $490.00 for the year, but Lyndon is only down $212.00.

Dave Hansen finally had a losing Card Night.  It was almost a disaster as he had to buy in for $180.00, but he had a nice late run and ended up down only $55.00.

In a strange bit of Card Night statistics: Mark DeVol and Jason both have 5-5 records for the last ten attended Card Nights.  Jason is up $140.00 while Mark is down $140.00.

Card Night 05-Mar-2013

Bill needed something to turn his year around, and boy did he get it.

On a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo, Bill went runner-runner to make a club royal flush, giving him the biggest jackpot win in Card Night history: $148.50.  That, along with good luck all night, made for his best Card Night ever: +$235.00.

John returned to Card Night after more than a year away from the table.  He captivated us with the story of his near-devastating broken-neck Hawaiian adventure in November.  Scary.
