Card Night 21-Oct-2014

Mark DeVol was basically even for the night with about twenty minutes before quitting time.  Then he went on an explosive streak, kicked off by a $36.50 jackpot win.  He kept scooping Omaha Hi-Lo pots (which were subsequently kill pots) right up until 10:00.  Ultimately he won $146.00.

Mark D +$146.00
Bill ‑$95.00
Chris ‑$5.00
Jeff +$11.00
Lyndon ‑$46.00
Glen +$9.00

Jackpot is now $38.00.

Card Night 14-Oct-2014

We played a variation of Hawaiian Punch tonight called Bingo.  Instead of five cards dealt in the middle of the table, ten cards are dealt.  That means a lot more discards.  Plus one more rule: If a player discards all his cards, he automatically scoops the pot (Bingo!).

The gang liked the game.  Especially Bill, who scooped the pot when the last cards were exposed on the last hand we dealt, and Bill discarded his last card: an ace.

Chris recorded his best Card Night ever, pocketing $255.00.  His previous best was $186.00 on 30-Jan-2014.

Mark D +$20.00
Mary ‑$21.00
Bill +$129.00
Chris +$255.00
Jeff ‑$38.00
Lyndon ‑$153.00
Jason ‑$174.00
Glen ‑$36.00

Jackpot is now $58.00.

Card Night 07-Oct-2014

When the first hand was dealt tonight, all eight players had arrived and were dealt in.  We can’t remember that happening for a long time, if ever.  (We didn’t actually start playing until 7:15, but that’s a whole other issue.)

Mark DeVol called a game sent in by one of the You Can Bet on That listeners called Second Best Hold ’em.  As the title indicates, the pot is awarded to the person with the second best poker hand.  It played pretty crazy, and no one quite figured out the best way to play it.

Mark D ‑$75.00
Mary +$45.00
Bill +$32.00
Chris +$13.00
Jeff +$45.00
Lyndon ‑$34.00
Jason ‑$74.00
Glen +$32.00

Jackpot is now $40.00.
