It’s strange how on some weeks our regulars are absent en masse.

Phil	Had to take son to baseball.	Bad excuse. Would have been a good excuse except the previous week he asked if there’d be a seat for him this week.
Bill	CEO was visiting from out of town.	Good excuse. Unforeseen work-related conflict, and he gave plenty of notice.
Jason	Had plans to hang out with some friends downtown at Mardi Gras.	Bad excuse. Would have been a good excuse except he forgot about it until this morning.
Mike	Had to pick up mother-in-law at airport.	Bad excuse. His mother-in-law knows we play Cards on Tuesdays.

Card Night 17-Feb-2009

A little known fact came to light tonight when it was revealed that Mike Coyne had asked to live in Paul’s guest house “dai siu.”

Paul has an annoying way of cracking pocket aces.  Tonight, Mike Stefanidis was the victim.  Paul cold-called a raise by Mike, then a re-raise by Mark DeVol and a re-re-raise by Mike.  Paul had 5-4 offsuit.  He won with a straight.

Glen had his best Card Night ever, taking home $69.00 as the big winner for the night.  A good chunk of that came from 2-11 Poker.

Speaking of 2-11, last week the game debuted at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens on Febuary 11 (2/11) at 2:11 p.m. with a $211 buy-in tournament.  Mike Stefanidis commented, “They should have debuted the game at 6 a.m., because that’s when my toilet is the most full of crap.”

Beer bottles were flying (and crashing) tonight as Bill powered through to a $128.00 win.  A good chunk of that came from a $20.25 jackpot (four queens in 2-11) and a $40.00+ payout from Jason in Buck ’em.

Lyndon’s winning ways just keep chugging along.  Another $50.00 went into his pocket tonight.

Paul’s loose-aggressive style created plenty of volatility for him tonight.  He was down $60.00, then up $20.00, then down $80.00.  He ended the evening down $22.00.

Regulars Paul and Mike were not able to make it tonight, so it probably wasn’t a coincidence that only $49.00 was exchanged between winners and losers.  Lyndon came out on top, winning $26.00.  Mark DeVol was on the short end of the stick, losing $27.00.
