Card Night 25-Sep-2012

Mike Stefanidis returned to the poker table tonight after missing twelve Card Nights in a row (a personal record).  He lost $33.00, putting him in the red for the year, down $1.00.  This after having been up $682.00 for the year at one point.

Meanwhile Glen, who was down for the year the last time Mike played, now has a commanding lead for 2012, up $909.00.  Tonight marked his tenth winning Card Night in a row, tying a personal record.  Mark DeVol and Paul are the only other players who have had winning streaks that long.  (Mark has had streaks of 10, 11, and 13; Paul has had streaks of 11 and 12).

Card Night 18-Sep-2012

We welcomed new player Joe tonight, and just as Jeff had done the first Card Night he attended, Joe won jackpot.  A healthy $29.25 payout with quad 9s in Omaha Hi-Lo.

Glen rolled his eyes as Joe collected his winnings.  “Why don’t I ever win jackpot?”  Indeed, Glen has only won jackpot five times since he started playing in September 2008.

But hang on!  Make that six.  Glen picked up an $18.25 jackpot when he flopped quad jacks in Texas Hold ’em later in the night.

And that’s not the only reason Glen shouldn’t feel too bad.  Tonight was his ninth Card Night win in a row, and he’s currently up $747.00 for the year.

Card Night 11-Sep-2012

Mark DeVol played DJ tonight.

It all started when Glen began singing “My Humps” by The Black Eyed Peas.  Mark pulled the song up on the iPad, and soon everyone was making requests.  Emphasis tended to be on the ’80s, although some ’70s and ’90s made their way onto the playlist as well.

Oh, and we played some poker.
