Card Night 28-Jun-2012

You wouldn’t know it by looking at the final results, but Paul had a wild night.

He was down nearly $160.00 when he called a round of $2-$4 Texas Hold ’em with a full kill.  We had five players tonight, so Paul dealt five hands.  And he won every single one of them.

That, combined with a $24.25 jackpot win, brought Paul all the way back to a modest $11.00 win.

Jason helped with Paul’s comeback by dropping $141.00, his second worst Card Night ever.  (Jason’s worst Card Night was back on 02-Jan-2009 when he lost $173.00 during a session where we played for two hours longer than usual.)

Card Night 21-Jun-2012

Five times in the past, a player has lost over $100.00 on two consecutive attended Card Nights:

• Paul did it back in 2002 (-$215.00, -$126.00).
• Mike Stefanidis did it in 2005 (-$117.00, -$134.25).
• Jeff did it last year (-$138.00, -$111.00) as did Mary (-$118.00, -$113.00).
• Ty did it earlier this year (-$101.00, -$125.00).

Two consecutive attended Card Nights was the record until Mike’s recent slide.  He has lost over $100.00 on each of the last five Card Nights he’s attended.  His overall loss for that period is $650.00.

And yet, because of his big wins early in 2012, he is still up for the year.

Card Night 12-Jun-2012

Mark DeVol is currently the big loser for the year, a title he’s previously never held this far into any year.  It’s reminiscent of Paul’s 2011 when he was the big loser as late as August.

Paul was able to comeback to finish the year an overall winner.  Let’s see if Mark can do the same.

Card Night 07-Jun-2012

After missing nine Card Nights in a row, Phil came roaring back by breaking two huge records.

First, he made a royal flush in Omaha Hi-Lo to win the biggest jackpot payout in Card Night history: $114.25.

Then, thanks in part to that huge jackpot win, he finished the night up $306.00, also a new Card Night record.

Phil has skyrocketed to the money leader for 2012, up $502.00.

Meanwhile, Mark DeVol had his worst Card Night ever, dropping $115.00.

Even so, he wasn’t the big loser for the night, as Mike Stefanidis lost $119.00.

Mike’s meteoric rise earlier in the year is quickly being offset by his significant recent plummet.  At one point, Mike was a winner nine Card Nights in a row, amassing winnings of $744.00.  Now he’s lost for four Card Nights in a row, dropping more than a hundred dollars each night for a loss of $539.00 during that period.  He is, however, still up for the year.
