Card Night 31-Jul-2012

Seven weeks ago, Mark DeVol was the big loser for the year, down $251.00.  Since then, he’s had only one losing Card Night (and that was only a $4.00 loss), and after tonight’s $64.00 win, he is now up for the year.

Lyndon returned to Card Night after more than four months away to post his first win of the year.  He also won jackpot with a 6-high diamond straight flush in Omaha Hi-Lo.

For some reason, the 6-high straight flush is the most common straight flush made at Card Night.  Here are the frequencies of straight flushes (without wild cards) since we started keeping track:

Mary was dealt four deuces as her down cards in a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo.  She wisely folded.  In most games, being dealt four deuces would be great.  In Omaha Hi-Lo, four deuces is the absolute worst starting hand.

Card Night 24-Jul-2012

Paul had a huge Buck ’em night, winning about $100.00 total the two times we played it.  However, the rest of the poker didn’t quite go his way, and he actually ended up losing $56.00 for the night.

Jeff won yet another jackpot, making it eight for him this year.  (Contrast that with Glen, who has been attending Card Night for almost four years and has won five jackpots total.)

Jeff’s eight jackpot wins doubles the number he won last year.  Four more and Jeff will tie the record Mike Stefanidis set in 2006 when Mike won twelve jackpots.

Card Night 19-Jul-2012

Paul had his best Card Night ever, a huge night, taking home $260.00.  He was also the only winner at our short-handed table of five players.*

Paul also won jackpot when he flopped quad 9s on a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo.  With Mike Stefanidis not attending Card Night much anymore, Paul has overtaken Mike as the all-time jackpot leader (76 jackpots for a total of $1,547.99).

Speaking of jackpots, Jeff made quad aces on the very last hand of the night to win his seventh jackpot of the year.  He’s far and away won the most jackpots and the most jackpot money ($214.75) for 2012.  (Despite that, Jeff is currently the big loser for the year.)

Card Night 05-Jul-2012

A pretty calm session of Cards tonight.  No really big pots.  Not even any re-raises that anyone could remember.

And it was reflected in the results.

Mark DeVol was the big winner pocketing $71.00.  It’s the smallest big win since Jeff won $68.00 on 12-Jan-2012.

Late arrival Jason (he forgot it was Card Night) was the big loser dropping $55.00.  It’s the smallest big loss since Lyndon lost $49.00 almost a year ago on 19-Jul-2011.
