On a hand of Pass the Buck, Mark DeVol looked like he had the best hand going both ways with three kings for wild cards. He had 9-high for low and a 9-high straight flush for high, but he failed to realize he had the straight flush, thinking he only had four 9s for high. As a result, he bought a card before the final betting round, getting rid of the 9. He drew an ace. Now he had the wheel for low, and four aces for high. He still ended up going both ways and dragging a huge pot.
This was our last Card Night of the year. For the first time since 2009, we played every week, never having to cancel due to not having enough players.
Chris and Glen finished the year up $1,302.00 and $1,301.00 respectively; just a dollar difference. Even more incredible, they each finished the year with a 29-17 record!
Mark had the best total for the year, winning $2,984.00. That’s the biggest calendar-year win by any player. Mark broke his own record of $2,373.00 set in 2016.
David Danovsky had the best 2023 record with 31 wins and 10 losses.
Bill Connor had the worst total for the year, losing $4,628.00. That is also a Card Night record. Bill is currently on a 14 Card Night losing streak. The longest losing streak in Card Night history is 16 weeks, set by Warren.
