Some big wins and losses tonight, despite there only being five players.

Bill finished the night up $224.00.  He said, “That’s probably my biggest win ever!”

Not even close, Bill.

It was actually his sixth biggest win.  His biggest win came on 24-Sep-2013 when he won $311.00.

Meanwhile, Glen just barely broke his record for worst night ever, dropping $143.00.  (Previously his worst night was on 13-Feb-2014 when he lost $141.00.)

Even so, Glen was not the biggest loser for the night.  Jason just scraped past him, losing $145.00.

Card Night 19-May-2015

On a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo, the board ran out 5♦-5♠-4♦-4♣–2♦.  The jackpot pool was over $100.00, so a murmur went around the table that maybe somebody had pocket 5s or pocket 4s and was about to collect at least $50.00.  Mary then turned over 3♦–6♦-x-x for a straight flush!  Her jackpot take was $78.00, the biggest in over two years.

Card Night 05-May-2015

We have missed having Paul as a regular player for over two years now, and we were hoping that a fun evening of camaraderie around the card table would be enough to get him to start attending again.

Alas, it was not to be.

After some persuasion, Paul did return to the table tonight, but it did not go well.  He played pretty solid poker, but ended up losing $188.00 due to bad luck.  He left early, and said he would not play next week.

We miss you, Paul!

This week, both Glen and Jason made the mistake Mark DeVol made the past two weeks: They failed to discard appropriately on a round of Bingo.  Apparently sometimes a player can get so fixated on certain cards in his hand that he fails to notice when another one of his cards appears on the board.
