A new player Jerry, Chris’s brother-in-law, joined us for the first time tonight. He fit right in. Since he’s a regular at Chris’s and Bill’s Wednesday night poker game, he pretty much knew all the games and all the rules. (The only thing that tripped him up was when we played 2-7 Triple Draw and he held on to an ace, forgetting aces are high.) Hopefully he’ll become a regular player.

On the last betting round of a hand of Stud 8, Bill bet, and Mark DeVol called. (Mark had a high pair showing, while Bill looked like he was going low.)
Mark turned over his hand revealing two pair. Bill sat there for a bit, and then slowly turned over his hand and declared, “Flush.”
Nice slow roll, Bill!
Then Bill asked, “Don’t we have to declare?”
“No, it’s Stud 8. There’s no declare. Cards speak. We play this every week!”
So Bill wasn’t slow rolling. He was just confused. Have another beer.
