A lot of just downright rude play tonight. Inattentiveness, slow-rolls, lies, and insults. It’s a good thing Bill and Warren weren’t in attendance, because it clearly would have deteriorated into fisticuffs.
An interesting Omaha Hi-Lo hand came up towards the end of the night. Virtually everyone at the table saw a flop of A-Q-7. Paul bet. Mike raised. Phil, Glen, and Mark DeVol all cold-called, and Paul called.
The turn was another 7. Paul checked. Mike bet. Phil called. Glen raised. Mark and Paul folded. Mike and Phil called Glen’s raise.
The river was a king. So the board was A-Q-7-7-K. Mike, Phil, and Glen all checked. Mike scooped the big pot with a single queen in his hand, giving him two pair (queens and 7s).
WTF?
Mike said that he was betting and raising with a draw to the nut low. Glen said he misread the board. Mark said he would have won the hand with aces and queens.
