Jeff introduced a new game of his own creation tonight. He didn’t have a name for it, but it went like this:
The game played with all the standard Omaha rules:
- Four cards to each player
- Players had to use two cards from their hands and three from the board
- Structured betting with a flop, turn, and river
However, the river card would determine if the game was low only, high only, or high-low declare:
- If the river was 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7, the game was low only
- If the river was 8, 9, 10, jack, queen, or king, the game was high only
- If the river was an ace, the game was high-low declare (this didn’t happen during our play tonight)
The game played fairly well. You definitely wanted to have some kind of hand both high and low before you got to the river.
Jackpot grows! $157.00 carryover tonight, the highest it’s been in over three and a half years.
Jerry | +$105.00 |
Mark D | ‑$25.00 |
Bill | +$34.00 |
Chris | ‑$115.00 |
Jeff | +$57.00 |
Glen | ‑$71.00 |
Jackpot is now $157.00.
Sounds like a great game looking for a name…..
In honor of George W. I suggest “The River is the Decider”
