Card Night 15-Jul-2008

Greg had said he was going to be here tonight, but he was a no-show.  And Mike had said that Mary was getting back into town yesterday, so we thought she might attend.  Nope.  Luckily, Warren showed up along with a new player Jason, so we had a total of six.

We watched the All-Star Game on TiVo, delayed by about an hour and a half.  As it got closer to 10:00, the game was tied at 3-3, so Mark DeVol started fast forwarding so we could get to the end of the game.  Finally, we just decided to switch over to live TV, and what do you know?  The game was still going on!  It was the 13th inning, still tied at 3-3.

Lyndon wondered what the longest All-Star Game was. Mark was sure it had to be this one, but he was wrong (at least at the time).  Back in 1967, the All-Star Game had gone 15 innings.

Later in the evening, after Card Night was over, the American League finally won in the bottom of the 15th.  The game tied the record for most innings in an All-Star Game, but broke the record for time of an All-Star Game, clocking in at 4 hours and 50 minutes.
