We have missed having Paul as a regular player for over two years now, and we were hoping that a fun evening of camaraderie around the card table would be enough to get him to start attending again.
Alas, it was not to be.
After some persuasion, Paul did return to the table tonight, but it did not go well. He played pretty solid poker, but ended up losing $188.00 due to bad luck. He left early, and said he would not play next week.
We miss you, Paul!
This week, both Glen and Jason made the mistake Mark DeVol made the past two weeks: They failed to discard appropriately on a round of Bingo. Apparently sometimes a player can get so fixated on certain cards in his hand that he fails to notice when another one of his cards appears on the board.

I would have enjoyed playing with Paul in attendance. This is almost like a celebrity sighting in other venues! We should actively encourage these players of old to attend by providing incentives (eg: players contribute additional cash to the Jackpot, we all bring snacks to game, FREE small blind for entire evening, etc.) The honored guest is worth it.
