Card Night 17-Jun-2014

A couple of personal records were broken tonight:

Jason has attended 15 Card Nights in a row without missing one.

Lyndon has had a losing session the last 11 times he’s attended Card Night.

At the end of the night, the kitty was $25.00 short.  Our written record of buy-ins was also $25.00 short.  Counting and recounting of everyone’s stacks still had us off by $25.00.

We’ve never had a discrepancy that big.  The only thing we could figure was that an extra $25.00 chip somehow made it into the game.

To be fair to everyone, we let jackpot make up the difference.  So instead of what would have been an $18.00 dollar increase, jackpot had a $7.00 decrease.

Mark D +$46.00
Mary ‑$14.00
Bill +$152.00
Chris +$63.00
Jeff ‑$10.00
Lyndon ‑$90.00
Jason ‑$140.00

Jackpot is now $14.00.

Rough night for me… Did you get Mary’s initial buy in perhaps? I recall you already had chips out before arrival for seats. Still that’s 20 not 25.

    • Yeah, that’s the thing. If one of the buy-ins had been messed up, you’d think we’d be off by a multiple of $20.

Let’s just be careful next time.

Could this be a similar instance of “fake” chips making their way into tournaments? We need to have the CardNight chips carry *hologram* verification !!

My comment was only in jest….. CardNight members have the highest integrity and would never produce “fake” chips. Which by the way, is something that could be done with personalization software (which I currently own)
I think I’ll make my own $10,000 CardNight chip to use as a card keeper : )
