Miguel joined us for only his third Card Night, and what a night he had. Things didn’t look good for him initially, but then he went on a tear, scooping some really big pots. He was the big winner for the night, taking home $114.00.
Birthday-girl Mary was a last minute addition to the table. She posted her second Card Night win in a row (the first time she’s done that in over a year).
We’ve got to continue to be careful when it comes to Omaha Hi-Lo boards that have four or five unique low cards on them. We had a situation tonight where the board was 8-8-5-2-A. Miguel had 8-5-3-x to win high with a full house. Paul had 4-2-x-x and everyone initially thought he had won low. But after all the cards were mucked, Paul suggested that in fact Miguel had won the low. After much thought, we all agreed that Miguel should have scooped the pot, and Paul graciously handed the winnings over to Miguel.
To review, Paul was playing the 8-5-A on the board and the 4-2 in his hand for a low of 8-5-4-2-A.
